About Spokane Valley

Spokane Valley is a city of about 105,000 people just east of Spokane in eastern Washington, stretching along the Spokane River toward the Idaho line. It was a collection of farming communities and orchard towns until it incorporated in 2003, making it one of the newest large cities in the state.

The Spokane River Centennial Trail runs through the city on its way from Spokane to Coeur d'Alene, and Mirabeau Point Park has a waterfall, ponds and trails beside the river. The Dishman Hills Natural Area protects forest and rock outcrops with views over the valley, and Avista Stadium is home to the Spokane Indians minor league baseball team.

Valleyfest brings a parade and festival every September, and the historic Opportunity Township Hall and the Royal Riblet House, with its tram up the river cliff, recall the area's early days. Spokane Valley Mall is a regional shopping center, and Lake Coeur d'Alene and the mountains of north Idaho are about 30 minutes east.

Best seasonJune to September for river trails, baseball and lake trips to Coeur d'Alene.
Ideal stayHalf a day for the river trail and Mirabeau Point, longer as a base for Spokane and north Idaho.
ArrivingSpokane International Airport is about 15 miles west.
