About Everett

Everett is a waterfront city of about 110,000 people on Port Gardner Bay, about 25 miles north of Seattle, with views of the Olympic Mountains across Puget Sound and the Cascades to the east. Founded in 1893 as a lumber and mill town, it is best known today as the home of Boeing's giant widebody jet factory, one of the largest buildings in the world by volume.

Visitors can tour the Boeing factory through the Future of Flight center in nearby Mukilteo, and the city's naval station and marina keep a strong maritime feel. Downtown Everett has the historic Everett Theatre, restaurants and an arena, and Grand Avenue Park blooms with cherry trees on a bluff overlooking the water.

Jetty Island, a short free ferry ride from the marina in summer, has sandy beaches and warm shallow water. Legion Park and the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens offer flower beds and views, 10th Street Marine Park is a launch point for boats, and the Snohomish River curves around the city's eastern edge on its way to the sound.

Best seasonJune to September for dry, sunny days, Jetty Island beaches and waterfront dining.
Ideal stayOne day for downtown, the waterfront parks and a Boeing tour.
ArrivingPaine Field airport in Everett has commercial flights, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is about 45 miles south.
