About Marysville

Marysville is a city of about 70,000 people in Snohomish County, Washington, just north of Everett and about 35 miles north of Seattle. It began as a trading post on Ebey Slough near the Tulalip Reservation in the 1870s and grew as a logging and farming town known for its strawberries, a heritage still celebrated every June.

The Marysville Strawberry Festival, held since the 1930s, brings a grand parade, carnival and community events. Jennings Memorial Park offers ponds, gardens and a historic barn, Comeford Park has the town's landmark water tower, and Ebey Waterfront Park opens onto the slough for walking and boat launching.

Next door on Tulalip land are the Hibulb Cultural Center, which shares the history and living culture of the Tulalip Tribes, and Quil Ceda Village with the Tulalip Resort Casino and Seattle Premium Outlets. Marysville is also a handy stop on the way to the Skagit Valley tulip fields, Whidbey Island and the North Cascades.

Best seasonJune to September, especially June for the Strawberry Festival; spring brings tulips to the nearby Skagit Valley.
Ideal stayOne day, or a stop on a Seattle to North Cascades or Skagit Valley trip.
ArrivingSeattle-Tacoma International Airport is about an hour south; Paine Field in Everett is closer for some flights.
