About Richardson

Richardson is a city of about 120,000 people just north of Dallas, at the heart of the Telecom Corridor, where hundreds of technology companies have offices. It began as a railroad stop in the 1870s and grew rapidly after World War II, and today it is home to the University of Texas at Dallas and some of the best Asian food in North Texas.

Richardson's Chinatown and the many restaurants along Greenville Avenue and Spring Valley Road serve dishes from across China, Taiwan, Korea and Vietnam. CityLine, a newer district around a DART station, has offices, apartments, restaurants and events, and the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts hosts concerts and touring shows.

The University of Texas at Dallas has a modern campus and a public art scene, and Breckinridge Park and Spring Creek Nature Area offer trails and open fields. Every spring the Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival brings live music, and the city's historic downtown along Main Street is being revived with local businesses.

Best seasonMarch to May for wildflowers and the spring festival, and October to November for mild weather.
Ideal stayOne day for Chinatown, CityLine and a show at the Eisemann Center.
ArrivingDallas Love Field is about 15 miles south, and DART light rail runs through Richardson.
