About Frisco

Frisco is a city about 25 miles north of Dallas that has grown from a small railroad stop into one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. It began in the early 1900s along the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, known as the Frisco line, which gave the town its name. For most of the 1900s it was a farm town of a few thousand people, before suburban growth exploded in the 1990s.

Today Frisco has more than 220,000 residents and has built itself into a sports and entertainment capital, earning the nickname Sports City USA. The Dallas Cowboys headquarters at The Star includes a practice stadium, hotel and restaurants, and the city is home to the PGA of America headquarters, the National Soccer Hall of Fame at Toyota Stadium and the minor league RoughRiders at Riders Field.

Frisco also has strong family and museum attractions. The National Videogame Museum and the Sci-Tech Discovery Center sit at the Frisco Discovery Center, the Museum of the American Railroad tells the story of the rail line that founded the city, and the Frisco Heritage Museum covers local history. Stonebriar Centre mall, the Shops at Legacy and parks with miles of trails round out the city.
