About Port Saint Lucie

Port St. Lucie is a fast-growing city on Florida's Treasure Coast, about an hour north of West Palm Beach. It began in the late 1950s as a planned community laid out along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River and has grown into one of the largest cities in the state, known for quiet neighborhoods, golf and a relaxed pace.

Baseball fans know it as the spring training home of the New York Mets at Clover Park, and golfers come for the courses of the PGA Golf Club. In the western Tradition area, Tradition Town Square hosts concerts and holiday events beside Lake Tradition, while the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens and Veterans Memorial Park line the river near US 1.

Nature is close at hand in the marshes of Savannas Preserve State Park, the riverside trails of the Oxbow Eco-Center and the wild ponds of McCarty Ranch Preserve. The Atlantic beaches of Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach and Fort Pierce are all within a short drive.

Best seasonNovember to April for dry, mild weather; February and March for Mets spring training.
Ideal stayTwo to three days, with time for nearby Atlantic beaches.
ArrivingPalm Beach International Airport is about 50 minutes south and Orlando International about 2 hours north; a car is essential.
