About Nashua

Nashua is the second-largest city in New Hampshire, home to about 90,000 people where the Nashua River meets the Merrimack, just north of the Massachusetts line. It grew around 19th-century textile mills, and the massive brick Nashua Manufacturing Company millyard still stands along the river. With no state sales tax, it is also a favorite shopping stop for New Englanders.

Downtown Main Street has restaurants, cafés and shops, and Railroad Square with its World War II memorial marks the south end of downtown. The Nashua River Rail Trail and the Heritage Rail Trail follow old rail lines for walking and biking, and Mine Falls Park protects woods, a canal and river trails in the middle of the city.

Holman Stadium, built in 1937, is one of the oldest ballparks in New England and was home to one of the first integrated professional baseball teams in the country. Greeley Park offers gardens and summer concerts, and the White Mountains and the coast are each about an hour away.

Best seasonMay to October for rail trails, ball games and fall foliage.
Ideal stayOne day for Main Street, the millyard and a trail.
ArrivingManchester-Boston Regional Airport is about 15 miles north, and Boston Logan is about 45 miles south.
