Rogers is a city of about 70,000 people in northwest Arkansas, in the Ozark hills near Beaver Lake. It was founded in 1881 when the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway arrived and was named after the railroad's general manager, Captain Charles Warrington Rogers. Today it is part of one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, alongside Bentonville, Springdale and Fayetteville.
The historic downtown has brick streets, restored storefronts, local restaurants and the Rogers Historical Museum. The Daisy Airgun Museum tells the story of the famous BB gun company, which moved its headquarters to Rogers in 1958. The Victory Theater and Frisco Park add to downtown's charm.
Beaver Lake, with hundreds of miles of shoreline, is a few minutes east for boating, fishing and camping, and the Razorback Regional Greenway links Rogers to neighboring cities by trail. Pinnacle Hills Promenade offers shopping, and the War Eagle Mill and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville are short drives away.
The historic downtown of Rogers along First and Walnut Streets, with brick storefronts, local restaurants, coffee shops, antique stores and breweries near the old Frisco railroad line. Summer brings a farmers market and concerts. It is easy to walk, and free parking is available along the streets and nearby lots.

A free city bike park near downtown Rogers with dirt jump lines, a pump track, skills features and beginner areas, built in the region's strong mountain biking culture. Riders of all levels use it, and spectators can watch from paths around the edge. Bring a helmet, and avoid it right after heavy rain.
A small museum in downtown Rogers telling the story of the Daisy company, maker of the famous Red Ryder BB gun, with hundreds of vintage air rifles, advertising and memorabilia. Daisy has been based in Rogers since the 1950s. Entry is low cost and it takes under an hour; there is a gift shop.
A city museum in downtown Rogers with exhibits on the history of the town and Northwest Arkansas, from the railroad era to the growth of local companies, plus hands-on displays for children. Admission is free. Allow about an hour, and check the schedule for walking tours and special exhibits.
A restored historic movie theater on Walnut Street in downtown Rogers, built in the 1920s and now used for live performances, films and community events. Its classic marquee is a local landmark. Check the event calendar before visiting, as the interior is open mainly during scheduled shows.
The Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, a large outdoor amphitheater in Rogers that hosts major touring concerts from spring through fall, with covered seats and a lawn area. It is the main concert venue in Northwest Arkansas. Check the bag policy, bring a blanket for the lawn and expect traffic after shows.
An open-air lifestyle shopping center in the Pinnacle Hills area of Rogers, with department stores, national brands, restaurants and a cinema set along landscaped walkways with views of the Ozark hills. It is a popular place for shopping and dinner. Parking is free and plentiful throughout the center.
A large reservoir on the White River east of Rogers, with clear water, rocky bluffs and many coves popular for boating, fishing, swimming and camping. Several Corps of Engineers parks and marinas offer access. Rent a boat or kayak at a marina, and bring life jackets; some swim beaches have day-use fees.
Arkansas's largest state park by area, east of Rogers along Beaver Lake, with forested Ozark ridges, hiking and mountain bike trails, a visitor center with nature exhibits and a historic sawmill site. It is free to enter. Trails can be rocky and steep in places, so wear good shoes and carry water.
A working water-powered grist mill on the War Eagle Creek east of Rogers, rebuilt on the site of earlier mills from the 1800s. It grinds and sells cornmeal and flours and has a small cafe upstairs. It is famous for the War Eagle Craft Fair held nearby each October, which draws huge crowds.
