About Fayetteville

Fayetteville is a college city of about 100,000 people in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas. Founded in 1828, it became home to the University of Arkansas in 1871, and the Razorbacks dominate local life, with game days filling Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium with red-clad fans calling the Hogs.

The Fayetteville Historic Square has the old post office and a lively Saturday farmers market, and Dickson Street is the city's entertainment district, with bars, restaurants and the Walton Arts Center. Bill and Hillary Clinton married in Fayetteville, and their first home is now the Clinton House Museum.

The city is known for its trails. The Razorback Regional Greenway runs north to Bentonville, and Lake Fayetteville, Kessler Mountain and Mount Sequoyah offer hiking and mountain biking. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville and the Buffalo National River are popular trips from town.

Best seasonApril to June and September to November for trails, markets and football season.
Ideal stayTwo days for the square, Dickson Street, campus and the greenway trails.
ArrivingNorthwest Arkansas National Airport is about 30 minutes north; Interstate 49 runs through the city.
