About Pflugerville

Pflugerville is a city of about 70,000 people just northeast of Austin, Texas. It was founded by German immigrant Henry Pfluger, who settled here with his family in the 1850s, and grew as a German farming community. Its downtown still has historic brick buildings from the early 1900s, and the city celebrates its German roots with the annual Deutschen Pfest festival.

Lake Pflugerville, a reservoir on the edge of the city, has a sandy beach, a trail around the water and kayaking, and Gilleland Creek runs through a network of parks and greenbelts with trails along its rocky banks. Typhoon Texas, a large water park, is a summer favorite for families.

The historic Heritage House Museum is a restored early 1900s home that tells the story of the city's settlers, and the old stone buildings and churches downtown are worth a stroll. Downtown Austin, with its live music and the Texas Capitol, is about 20 minutes south.
