About Broomfield
Broomfield is a city and county of about 75,000 people in Colorado, set on the US 36 corridor about halfway between Denver and Boulder. It grew from a small farming and railroad settlement named for the broomcorn grown here into a fast-growing suburb, and in 2001 it became Colorado's newest county, joining the state's other consolidated city and county, Denver.
Broomfield has wide views of the Front Range and the Flatirons, and much of its land is open space and trails. The Carolyn Holmberg Preserve around Stearns Lake is a quiet spot for birding and prairie walks, and the Broomfield County Commons Park offers sports fields, trails and gardens. The small Broomfield Depot Museum and the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum tell local and military history.
The Interlocken business park is home to the Omni Interlocken Resort and its golf course, while the 1stBank Center hosts concerts and FlatIron Crossing draws shoppers. Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Denver are all within an easy drive.
