About Palm Coast
Palm Coast is the largest city in Flagler County, on Florida's northeast coast between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. It began in the late 1960s as a planned community laid out by ITT along a network of saltwater canals, became a city in 1999, and is known for its golf courses, green spaces and quiet, natural feel.
The area's highlights are mostly outdoors. Washington Oaks Gardens State Park pairs formal gardens and live oaks beside the Matanzas River with a striking beach of orange coquina rock on the Atlantic. Princess Place Preserve protects a historic 1880s hunting lodge on Pellicer Creek, and Bings Landing on the Intracoastal Waterway holds the ruins of the Mala Compra plantation.
Miles of paved trails, including the Lehigh Trail and paths through Graham Swamp, link parks and neighborhoods, and Waterfront Park and Long Creek Nature Preserve are good for paddling and sunsets. Hammock Beach Resort offers oceanfront golf, while St. Augustine, Marineland and Flagler Beach are all a short drive away.
