About Beavercreek

Beavercreek is a city of about 47,000 people in Greene County, Ohio, on the eastern edge of the Dayton metro area. It began as a farming township along the small Beaver Creek and grew quickly after the mid-20th century thanks to nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, becoming a busy suburb known for its shopping, parks and good schools.

The city is the main retail hub of the region. The Greene Town Center is an open-air district of shops, restaurants and a cinema, and the Mall at Fairfield Commons sits just to the north. The Hindu Temple of Dayton, one of the largest in the state, is a striking landmark set among fields.

Outdoors, Beavercreek has more than it first seems. The Narrows Reserve follows the Little Miami River, Siebenthaler Fen protects a rare wetland, and the paved Creekside Trail links the city to Dayton and Xenia. Each September the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival fills the city with music, crafts and food.

Best seasonMay to October for trails and the river; September for the Popcorn Festival.
Ideal stayA half day to a day, or a base for exploring the wider Dayton area.
ArrivingDayton International Airport is about 25 minutes away by car; I-675 runs through the city.
