About Huber Heights

Thousands of brick ranch homes, laid out from the 1950s by builder Charles Huber on former farmland, give Huber Heights its proud nickname as America's Largest Community of Brick Homes. The city of about 43,000 sits just northeast of Dayton in southwest Ohio, close to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Great Miami River.

The city's biggest draw is Carriage Hill MetroPark, a large Five Rivers MetroParks preserve with woods, a lake, horse trails and a working historical farm where staff in period dress show rural life in the 1880s. In summer, the open-air Rose Music Center brings national touring acts to an amphitheater on the north side of town.

Along the Great Miami River, Taylorsville MetroPark and the historic Taylorsville Dam offer river views, rocky bluffs and access to the long paved Great Miami River Trail. Downtown Dayton, the National Museum of the US Air Force and the Wright brothers sites are all within about 20 minutes.

Best seasonMay to October for concerts, farm programs and river trails.
Ideal stayHalf a day to a full day, often combined with Dayton.
ArrivingDayton International Airport is about 15 minutes west; I-70 runs along the north side of the city.
