About Mont-Tremblant

Mont-Tremblant is a resort town in Quebec's Laurentian Mountains, named for one of the tallest peaks in the range. Lakes, rivers and dense forest surround it, and the town combines a busy ski resort at the base of the mountain with older residential centers that grew up long before modern tourism.

The colorful Pedestrian Village at the foot of the slopes is the hub, with restaurants, shops and a gondola that climbs toward the summit for skiing in winter and hiking or sightseeing in summer. Lac Tremblant offers boat cruises and swimming, and the Rouge River draws rafters and paddlers while several golf courses fill the summer calendar. Mont-Tremblant National Park, one of Quebec's largest, protects lakes and trails, including the Diable via ferrata. Cyclists ride Le P'tit Train du Nord, a former railway converted into a long recreational trail, and motorsport fans know Circuit Mont-Tremblant.

The resort suits families, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts who want activities close at hand. Saint-Jovite and the old village around Lac Mercier offer a more local feel. The Buddhist monastery in nearby Harrington is a peaceful detour. Winter and fall foliage season are the busiest periods.

Best seasonDecember to March for skiing; late September to early October for fall colors.
Ideal stayThree to five days covers the village, the national park and a lake or river outing.
ArrivingMost travelers drive from Montreal and its Trudeau International Airport, heading north on Highway 15.
