About Qui Nhon

Qui Nhon is a coastal city on the South Central Coast of Vietnam, famous for its beaches, the Cham Twin Towers and the rocky shore of Ghenh Rang. Its top sights are the Twin Towers, Qui Nhon Cathedral, the tomb of the poet Han Mac Tu, Queen's Beach and Ky Co Beach on the Phuong Mai Peninsula.

Once Cham land with the seaport of Thi Nai, it saw a Mongol invasion fleet in 1283, and the Ming treasure fleets of Admiral Zheng He made it their first port of call. Qui Nhon became a city in 1986 and capital of Binh Dinh province in 1989, and since July 2025 its area has formed wards of Gia Lai province.

The former city had about 319,000 people in 2022. It is known for banh xeo pancakes with jumping shrimp, banh hoi with rice porridge and fish-cake noodle soup. Phu Cat Airport, about 30 km to the north-west, has flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
