About Taguig

Taguig is a city in Metro Manila, the Philippines, famous for Bonifacio Global City, the Manila American Cemetery and The Mind Museum. The old lakeside town on Laguna de Bay now holds BGC, a grid of glass towers, landscaped streets and public art built on land that was once the army base of Fort Bonifacio.

The military past is still close. The Philippine Army keeps its headquarters and museum at Fort Bonifacio, and two great war cemeteries lie side by side: the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, with its endless rows of white marble crosses, and the Libingan ng mga Bayani, the Filipino national heroes' burial ground. In the older barangays to the south, the Augustinian parish of Santa Ana recalls the town's Spanish colonial roots.

Most visitors base themselves in BGC, where Bonifacio High Street, Burgos Circle and The Mind Museum sit within walking distance of one another, and the Venetian canals of McKinley Hill are a short ride away. Evenings are the best time to explore, when the towers light up and the cafes and restaurants fill.
