Nice place but please avoid. We were happy at first but the relaxing vibe soon went with the relentless sales pitches for their trekking tour and other travel packages. Intrusions in to our room after midnight and broken promises of car tours were also a downside of our stay. Please take your business elsewhere if you're planning on staying on a houseboat.

The best decision I took by booking this houseboat as a place for my shelter. We stayed here for 3 nights, and at the time of check-out I was literally cursing my decision to prebook a 2-night Non-refundable stay in Pahalgam, I wanted to stay here as long as I was in Kashmir, anyways next time, for sure I am going to consider this place for my entire stay in Kashmir. Coming back to hospitality, we literally felt the comfort of our home, Abdul uncle was so kind and helpful, and I am literally missing all those discussions we use to have in the evening. Khurshid bhai also took great care of us. Suhel bhai the owner of the houseboat is a gem of a person, I am glad that I came across a group of such nice people. If you are a couple or a family, friends, or a solo guy, I am sure you are going to enjoy the hospitality. You will get good cozy rooms at a good price point as well. Overall awesome experience. Nestled on Dal Lake, Lala Rukh Houseboats offer an exquisite Kashmiri retreat. Showket, Riyaaz, and Younis welcomed us with genuine warmth, ensuring our stay was impeccable. The houseboats, adorned with intricate woodwork, provided cozy rooms with stunning views of the lake and Himalayas. We were captivated by the serene ambiance, waking up to gentle lake sounds. Showket’s hospitality, Riyaaz’s culinary delights, and Younis’s attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. Dining on Kashmiri cuisine under the stars was divine. Lala Rukh Houseboats offer a perfect blend of tranquility and hospitality, making it a must-visit destination in Kashmir.

Peaceful boathouse on a peaceful Dal Lake. The owner and staff here are really friendly. But I give this place 2 stars because of his cousin Ali. If it wasn't for Ali I would have given it 5 stars. FYI Ali has a shop in Srinagar called Bike Rentals | Backpackers Tour and Travels. Never use that rental shop.

1. Rooms were stinky. 2. Shikara was dirty, wet and unhygienic. 3. Room’s roof was leaking and rainwater was coming inside. 4. The caretaker was relentlessly pitching in for shikara ride for 1000 rupees. Plus he charged extra for ride back to ghat. 5. Breakfast was unhygienic and didn’t feel like eating. 6. The bathroom was dirty as hell and there was no hot water, reason given was that there is no electricity. 7. Group of houseboats is a scam as there is no board of lala rukh on the houseboat or shikara as compared to others. 8. Everything was so dirty, filty and unhygienic.
