I contacted Freedom Sweep Chimney Service in July. The first red flag was that he never showed up for the consultation appointment, and despite multiple unanswered calls and texts the morning of, he called as if there was no issue the next day and claimed I had the date wrong. So I took off work for the original appointment, and then had to leave early the next day. But, I decided sometimes things happen, so I'll still give him a chance. Now, I needed chimney work as a condition of my home insurance. It really wasn't in the budget for me, but I needed it done right away. I explained the situation and let the owner know that I needed the work done as soon as possible for my insurance. He assured me that he's booked up, but works with insurance companies all of the time and a contract for service would be just fine to give to insurance. So I was convinced to sign a $7,000 contract, to which my insurance company didn't accept, and I was canceled anyway, but locked into a contract I couldn't afford. Every single time he said he was going to show up, there was a problem. Either the job before me took longer, or there was a weather issue. Yet every time he or his employees were on my property, they were inside for less than a half hour. I had to constantly rearrange my schedule on short notice, and each time had to confirm for myself whether or not someone was going to show up because he was very unclear. Long story short, I paid in full prior to the job's completion, because the owner was nice and I was naive. I have reached out no less than 5 times, and have been 'ghosted' at this point. My fireplace (that no longer works) is still open, my chimneys are still deteriorating inside my home, and the paint that he applied to my exterior chimney began chipping the week it was applied. We spoke in person about how to rectify these issues at least twice. I have never received a formal "paid" invoice, and never received the fire certifications that I paid for. I would not recommend this company at all. I'm now considering whether to consult an attorney or just pay someone else to finish the job, because it's clear that this company is not going to since they're already been paid. The fact of the matter is, the owner will always speak about how "busy" he is as an excuse, but he over books and under delivers at the customer's expense. I will also be filing my experience with the Better Business Bureau.

Last year, my wife and I bought a house and were pretty excited at the idea of burning wood in the fireplace. During our home inspection, however, it became evident that the top of the chimney needed some work. We decided to tackle the masonry related repairs this summer before the beginning of the wood burning season. We contacted Freedom Chimney, and the owner, Jay, responded promptly and set up an appointment quickly. After he showed me pictures of the condition of the top of the chimney, he worked up a quote that included a detailed description of the work to be performed. He removed the remnants of the old concrete, cleaned it up, resurfaced it, capped /sealed it, added new chimney flu caps, and cleaned the interior of the whole chimney. After tackling what had to be done, he outlined ideas for future improvements, preventative maintenance, and enhancements, including an exterior brick sealant to repel moisture. During the whole process, Jay was informative, personable, and able to articulate the details of why and what needed to be done. He made me feel comfortable and that I was a priority. Iโ€™ll continue to use Freedom in the future and would highly recommend!

Had a chimney cap replaced 12 months ago by this company and recently started to have water dripping into the fireplace during rain storms. Attempted the contact this company to have them come out and look into it. Got an initial response saying they would get back to me about scheduling service. Did not hear back and attempted to contact them multiple times but not getting a response now. Ended up contacting another local company and they were able to resolve.
