Chohan Autos

I purchased a new 70cc bike for my college-going sons, who had just learned driving, a few days ago. They were very keen to get a new bike which was going to be their first love. I decided to go for a locally-made 70cc bike and visited Chohan Autos, the dealers of that brand. It was a case of Hobson's Choice for us. After I had made the payment, I was told that the bike was available only in red colour. We wanted it in black. We had to contend with the colour choice. When I reached home I looked at the speedometer. To my surprise, it was not working. Furthermore, a close inspection of the bike revealed that its driving chain was too tight -- likely to break with another kilometer ride. On a bumpy road, the bike produced two types of noises -- one from the handle bar or a little below where the headlight is fixed, and the second noice emanated from the rear and gave you the feeling as if there were no shocks (suspension) installed. When I told them about the problems they asked me to visit another auto workshop and get my bike checked which they said was under warranty. I forgot to mention that the front brake when applied, the lever did not get pulled back! Tomorrow I'll be visiting the workshop they have asked me to. Let's hope for the best! * The above review was written a few months ago. The name of the bike brand/manufacturers was withheld intentionally, lest it should damage their reputation and goodwill. I was expecting a thorough checkup of the bike and the fault removed. What was infuriating and added insult to the injury was the behaviour of the so-called authorised dealer on Sialkot Raod who tried to convince me in absolute terms that the noises produced by the bike were 'routine noises' which I must get used to. It was my fault to buy the so-called 'one of the best Pakistani-Chinese made' UNITED motorcycle. I think the government should keep tabs on such manufacturers who are mere fraudsters and cheaters!
