Big Red Plumbing has great communication and calls and arrival times were always when they said they were going to either arrive or call back. Dillon was a pleasure to discuss needs and Jacob (The Installer) was great as well, He had the new water heater installed in about 3 hours and cleaned up everything like he wasn't even there. Been a day since it was installed and I should mention this is a Nat Gas Water heater in a Manufactured Home with the heater in a closet and zero issues as of this writing. Pricing was very competitive and the service was exemplary. Would not hesitate recommending Big Red Plumbing for water heater installation.

They came the same day I called, the diagnostic fee rolls into the labor fee, which I really appreciated. Kevin seemed knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. *Update* Big red might be good for some jobs, however, they came back to install the dishwasher I purchased from Fred’s and gave me a quote of over $1200 to install. I did ask how long it would take, he said about an hour and a half, and I offered to pay him $200 an hour. I’m sorry, but $700 an hour… Really!? I had a wonderful installer come up from Coeur d’Alene that was recommended by Fred’s appliance that charged me $275. He did a fantastic job. If you need an appliance installed, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Beyond predatory pricing and behavior. Called about a leak between house and septic tank. You could see the water coming up through the ground making it obvious where the break was. Tech showed up and poked at the ground for about 5 minutes while I explained everything I knew. Called his boss and after 15 minutes on the phone the quote was $5700 for the repair, $27000 if I wanted to replace the whole drain line (35 feet) why I would do this for a simple break is beyond me. I looked down and just shook my head, and he immediately said, "Well for first time customers we can knock 10 percent off." me: "Great, but $5200 still seems really high" Then he said, "well how much did you want to pay?" me: "I don't know, not a plumber but 4000-4500?" He calls his boss. After another 10 minutes on the phone "Good news, he says we can do it for $4700" I said I needed to think about it. He then proceeded to send me the quote (fine), call to verify I received it (annoying but ok), texted me to verify (why?), then called me again later to ask when they can get started pulling a permit (seriously!?). Got another company to quote and it came to $1800, ended up paying $1875 total for full repair and camera scoping (not included in Big Reds quote). Still had to pay the $49 truck roll fee to Big Red for the privilege of meeting them. Gross practices all the way around.

Grateful for Big Red Plumbing’s quick response. Same day service was appreciated. Our plumber, Kevin, was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained all of our options for repair and costs clearly. Overall, a great experience.
