Its anchor is the old Fayette County Courthouse, a Richardsonian Romanesque landmark from 1900 whose restored rotunda now holds the city's visitor centre and restaurants. A few blocks away, leafy Gratz Park preserves elegant Federal-era homes, and Triangle Park cools summer evenings with its cascading fountains. On Saturdays the farmers market fills the pavilion area near the courthouse. Walk the streets in the evening, when bourbon bars and restaurants are busiest.
