Ted's Automatic Transmission

I HIGHLY recommend Ted’s Automatic Transmission. Marvin, who runs the shop, was very helpful to work with and helped quickly diagnose some sticking issues I was having and made service recommendations to remedy the issue. He even offered insight on what products I should use if I wanted to do the service myself if I needed to save some money. After they completed the recommended service at a fair price, my transmission is running smoothly again! While I certainly hope I won’t have to return too soon, I’ll absolutely use Ted’s again for any transmission needs.

2014 Forester (CVT) The dealer charged $185 to "diagnose" the symptoms of my CVT. The rep was friendly and provided his best guess when I gave him a list of the codes. Possible charge: $2600 I decided to get a second opinion. Two separate shops recommended I visit Ted’s Auto Transmissions, and I’m so glad I did. I spoke with Marvin, who reviewed the same list of codes I had given the dealer. From his on free code check, he quickly determined the issue wasn’t what the dealer had thought — and he was right. Marvin and his team clearly have years of valuable, hands-on experience. They’re truly a diamond in the rough. Their father, "Ted", taught them well. While the repair wasn’t free, it was done professionally, accurately, and at about 60% less than the dealer’s quote — with no unnecessary diagnostic fees. Marvin even took the time to explain other transmission designs and systems, which showed just how knowledgeable he is. The problem was solved, the transmission is operating smoothly. If I ever need transmission work again, I’ll gladly drive the 20 miles back to Ted’s Auto Transmissions. Highly recommended!

Marvin, diagnosis my problem within five minutes. I came to his shop from another business that said I needed to replace my transmission. Mr. Marvin advised he was 99% sure it was not the transmission. Followed his advice and took my vehicle my vecicle to a mechanic, turns out I needed to replace my catalytic converter.
