If you look through Smooth Appliance Reviews on Google, Yelp, and BBB, you'll find a few instances of Smooth Appliances accepting payment for work upfront, never completing that work, then using collections agencies to bully clients into paying for work they never received. That was my experience as well. It's when things go wrong that you see the true nature of a business, and in my experience Max was incredibly rude and had no interest in making things right whatsoever. And based on the reviews and his own admission that he consistently sends clients to collections I'd say it's a pattern of behavior that speaks to the nature of the business as a whole. If you are forced to deal with Smooth Appliances, my advice would be this: Do not pay for anything upfront. And document everything.

Both parts, the flood switch and the Control Board (per you diagnosis) were from eBay but the flood switch fixed the problem but the new control board gave the same issue, indicating and proving that your diagnosis was wrong, regardless. Agreed or not. The FACT is that the flood switch + the original control board (old) enabled the dish washer to function properly. Another authorized party? Wouldn't you be one of authorized companies but was unable to do the right diagnosis with the paid service, and stay behind your service for something you did wrong? Thanks! —————————————————— Do not use these people!!! My dish washer went down and called serviced. I trusted them being the authorized repair company and paid them ($65) for the diagnosis of the issue. When I asked him to be sure about the issue, he told me that he spent 5 years in college and another 5 years on the job and he was sure and claimed the control board was the issue, thus I purchased the part which was proven to be not the issue. I called the Smooth Service but they did not admit their mistake. I then filed to BBB and also Portland Attorney General to complain. Maksym from the Smooth Appliance kept asking for another authorized repair company to prove that was not the issue, although I provided them all the invoices for purchasing the parts. I deemed the Smooth Appliance Service as the authorized service company for doing the right job (are they the authorized repair service??), but he could not even do the right diagnosis, and the part that fixed the issue has proved that their diagnosis WAS wrong and I wasted the money and the time. The reason I did not ask them to continue the repair was because they claimed $362 to fix the issue (by swapping the board) but I had paid to get the diagnosis right! The actual part which really went wrong was $28 flood switch (again, it has been proven) and I was lucky for not letting them continue the further repair. Now I realize they just wanted to make the max amount of money out of this case. I am seriously looking for a correct altitude for the company to correct their mistake and refund me their wrong diagnosis and the money that I wasted due to their wrong diagnosis for the control board he claimed, but the company refused to do so and kept requesting another authorized company to prove. The FACT has proved already with the flood switch and old control board. In all, such an unprofessional company should have not existed on the market. You should not hire them to do the service!!
