Dec. 2, 2021.We could hear water running even when we weren't using it. We called Hartford DPW, and they assessed that it was the intake line. Because the DPW isn't free to suggest names of contractors, they were VERY happy that we chose DR Key Corp as they have a great relationship with them and like the quality of their work. We had visions of underground sinkholes, but fortunately, because they came quickly that was prevented. Great peace of mind. They coordinated their timing, got water turned off. Andy Key came with his team, then turned over the work to them. Backhoe operator and his partner worked in tandem, communicating well to dig enough, but carefully. Didn't trash our lawn. Watching a skilled backhoe operator is a pleasure. He carefully moved the pile of soil back in place and tamped it down. A little grass seed next spring and we're back in business.

Last week, a representative from the local DPW came to our house to tell us that there was a leak in our water service (from the curb to our house). After some quick investigation, we were given DR Key’s contact information as a potential contractor to get this fixed. Not 15 minutes after our initial call, we had someone on site who calmly walked with us to help us understand the problem and discuss potential options. He quickly mobilized equipment and people, and leveraged his relationship with the local DPW to get as much information as possible about the path of the existing line. DR Key’s approach was strategic and efficient with the goal of minimizing the cost and scope of repairs, as well as any damage to our yard and plants. While we ended up replacing the whole service, I felt that we had thoroughly explored all alternatives before taking that step. Every member of their crew was friendly and professional, they had the water on every night before leaving, they gave us choices and asked questions, and they did a great job putting our yard back together at the conclusion of the project. Their bill was well itemized and clear, and though it was an expensive issue to fix, I felt that we got high value for every dollar we spent. We recommend them highly.
