TABAQ

This branch had high expectations given Tabaq’s legacy at Lakshmi Chowk, especially for their famous chargha. Unfortunately, the Johar Town outlet hasn’t maintained the same quality. What we ordered: • Mutton Leg Roast – 3.5/5 (decent, but not outstanding) • Chicken Karahi – 2/5 (dry, lacking flavor) • Mata Biryani – 3/5 (average, nothing special) • Malai Boti – lost its “malai” touch, missing creaminess • Chicken Kebab – dry, lacked juiciness Kudos to their well thought out interior…parking space is limited Overall: 2.8/5 Disappointing compared to the original branch; needs serious improvement to match Tabaq’s reputation.

Mixed feelings but not too bad. Ordered black pepper chicken, chicken sekh kabob, garlic naan, fresh salad, and peach iced tea. The naan was amazing, a proper naan as it should be. The salad was good as well, very fresh. the black pepper chicken was good but a little too salty and overcooked. Was given a butter knife so it was a struggle to cut it. As far as Pakistani steals go, it was more than acceptable. Now the kabobs were kinda disappointing. They were very moist and well cooked but absolutely no flavor. Peach iced was not great, wouldn't get it again. Also, we waited 45 minutes for our food when the place was basically empty. Since it was so empty, the staff was hovering over us, which was kinda weird. Overall, an okay place, a bit expensive for the quality but not bad.

Niblets were very tasty. Food arrived in around 20-30 minutes. Food was served hot. Quantity is a bit less. Taste was amazing. Ample parking. Clean washrooms.

It was a fine visit to Tabaq the childhood favourite of all millennials who belong to Lahore. Honestly the steam roast was not upto expectations, very hard like refried,and we all had upset stomach after that. Need to look into this. The authentic and OG ketchup of Tabaq was missing....it was some company ketchup. But overall I am glad that Tabaq is going places. But need to improve quality of food.

Food was fresh but pathetic. Very dry & tasteless steam roast. If they can't do one simple thing what can we expect. Ordered some chicken kebab which had extra juice in them. God knows what kinda fat but tasteless. Designer did an amazing job and the details are good. Ambiance overall is really good. I like that retro contemporary minimalist theme. But if they can improve and serve real food I think it can become a good place. p.s giving two stars for that good OG roghni naan of Tabaq.
