Sal's Auto Service Inc

This was my first time using Sal’s Auto Service. I got the tip from someone at another gas station.i ended up using them for extensive maintenance & repairs on a 2015 Audi A6 with only 58k mileage. The car drives and looks great and my goal is to drive it for many years. I’m very impressed with Carlo one of the owners. He made sensible suggestions knowing that I’m retired without an unlimited budget. There’s a trust factor here that Sal’s doesn’t need to hoodwink you into doing something you don’t need. It’s a very busy shop employing 10 technicians. Car repairs can be stressful, especially from disreputable shops. I’m glad I found Sal’s Auto Service in Eastchester.

Be aware-not a good place anymore! My husband has been to this place for years and always said good things about it. I brought my 3 year old BMW with 18K miles for a NY state inspection. After 15 minute of waiting, the younger guy told me he can’t pass the inspection for me because I need new tires-all 4 of them! I can’t believe it and questioned him that the car only has 18K miles - he didn’t even blink and said even 10k miles would require new tires! I left with an estimate of $2000! After I got home, my husband said the tires look okay to him so I decided to bring my BMW to the BMW service center instead. Guess what? They passed the inspection without any issues. Specially they said the tires are getting worn but not a safety concern at this point. I’m extremely disappointed with this place!! I really wanted to take care of small businesses in the community but they didn’t deliver the right message and value. They lost me as a customer forever…

I went to Sal’s Auto Service a couple of weeks ago for an oil change on my Honda civic we were new to the area and scared to go to a new shop and had an awesome experience. From the start, Sal, the owner’s son, was great to work with. He helped me get a quote over the phone, scheduled me quickly, and handled everything smoothly from start to finish. When I came in, he explained everything clearly, and from getting the quote to handing me the final bill, the whole process was easy and professional. What really stood out to me was how personable Sal was — he made it feel like we were friends just talking cars. He mentioned that he’s still in school in Long Island but loves coming in to help his father and uncle whenever he can which you don't find now in days. You can really see the passion and drive he has at such a young age, and that says a lot about how this family runs their business. With Sal stepping up and learning the trade, it’s clear that Sal’s Auto Service is in great hands for the next generation. That first visit definitely won’t be my last!

I called Sal’s Auto and spoke with John because my vehicle was vibrating for a few days. I had my engine mounts replaced elsewhere a few months ago. John expressed, that I will need to make arrangements for transportation due to the location of my issue, so that my vehicle can be throughly assessed. I arrived to the shop, and was greeted by Sal. Sal attentively listened to my concerns and took the time to briefly looked at my car. He explained and showed me the area where the mount had an issue. Sal suggested I take my vehicle back to the previous mechanic who did the work. Sal intentions were good and wanted to save me additional out of pocket cost. I declined to go back to my previous mechanic because I respected Sal’s honesty and I felt he was trustworthy. I was comfortable and confident leaving my car with Sal and his staff to take more time to assess the issue and complete the repair although it would be an additional cost to me. Sal was professional and courteous at all time during this process. He gave me his word he will get back to me later that day with a full assessment and quote, and he did. Sal and staff attention and workmanship for my car was excellent, and the problem was resolved. I picked up my vehicle , it was in excellent condition and I had no more vibration, problem resolved. I would take my car back to Sal’s Auto anytime because of their professionalism, honesty, transparency, knowledge, courteous, respectful, trustworthy, workmanship and excellent communication Sal’s Auto stands by their word and their workmanship which is very rare today.
