I don't usually write reviews, but I'm sharing this review for the benefit of many people who might be in a similar situation as me. A year ago, I noticed small cracks throughout my house and in the stoop bricks, so I contacted two major foundation repair company. They both told me the house was tilting and needed foundation repairs. However, when I had a structural engineer assess the house, he said the small cracks were merely cosmetic and not a major problem, but that I should seal the cracks in the stoop and around the entrance door. Since then, more small cracks have appeared, and I'm worried, so I contacted another structural engineer, who recommended the Deska company. The lady I spoke to on the phone was kind and understood my concerns. She said she would send a senior consultant first, and if the problem was complex, they would send a structural engineer. The senior consultant David (worked in the field more than 30 years) arrived at the scheduled time, was friendly, and didn't rush. He inspected and explained everything I was worried about. He spent about an hour and a half looking around the house, and he reassured me, confirming what the structural engineer had previously said, that the problem was with the stoop, not the house foundation. Two other bigger companies recommended unnecessary foundation work costing $30,000 to $45,000 just to make a sale, so I was very grateful for David's honest advice. He suggested that it would be better to first seal the cracks in the patio and monitor the situation, and proceed with repair if the problem persists. I tried to pay him for the assessment, but David refused, saying that the consultation was free. If the patio continues to be a problem, I will definitely hire Deska for the foundation work. I highly recommend DESKA. Pat communicated great for the appointment, both confirming the time the day before and day of. He was right on time at the start of the appointment window, which I really appreciated. As for work, I did not have any done because Pat did not advise having anything done. I was very impressed with his willingness to assess and address my concerns. He never tried to upsell me or talk me into work. He gave me his professional assessment of my issues and gave comparisons to what a truly dire situation (as I had feared!) would look like. I appreciated his assurance and professionalism.
