I needed a last minute fireplace & chimney cleaning for the rental we are moving out of and Shawn’s chimney sweep made that one aspect of our move very easy. Called the week before and he popped by at the day and time we scheduled and he got it done in less than an hour. Price was exactly what he said it would be when I originally called. Overall positive experience!

Shawn cleaned my wood stove chimney many times until last year and this year he never responded to multiple messages to schedule and often doesn’t empty his voice mail. So if you live 3o minutes from Santa Fe he’ll be blowing off your business even if you had been a loyal customer for years. You cannot depend upon this man.

I usually don’t like to post negative reviews for any local business but I can’t in good conscience recommend Shawns chimney sweep after the experience I have had. He came out a few months ago and gave me an estimate to install a new pellet stove. I gave him a deposit of just over $3000 and we agreed on a set date. Unfortunately, I had a pipe burst under my floor and needed my floor replaced. I called Shawn to ask if we could reschedule once the floor was complete. He said we could. He did not advise me at that time that there would be any issue with postponing. I called him a week before the floor was to be repaired to let him know, and he did not return my call. I called him again and his voicemail was full. I called him a third time and was fortunate enough to catch him. At that time he told me he would let me know once he looked at his schedule. I waited a week and heard nothing. I called him again and once again the cycle of calls, no return calls, and full voicemails repeated itself. Finally when I got a hold of him, he snapped at me and told me he would call me when he had a date available. Once again, I hung up and waited. After not hearing from him for a few weeks. I attempted to contact him again. Once again, no return phone calls, full voicemails, etc. Finally I’d had enough. He clearly was too busy and did not need my business. I left him a voicemail telling him I was very dissatisfied and wanted my deposit back. Lo and behold within minutes he was calling me back and now he was going to be there the following Saturday. I told him it was too late. I had been patient enough and I wanted my deposit back. I asked him to mail me the deposit within a week and he said he would. It’s now three weeks later and I’ve received no check in the mail and, of course, he’s not returning my calls. My husband recently passed away and I need the $3000 back. I’ve explained this to him in a voicemail and still, nothing. My experience with him has been very frustrating, stressful, and difficult. I don’t recommend his company to anyone! Buyer beware and definitely don’t leave a large deposit.
