Thank goodness for The MacDoctor! Steve is one of those unique geeks (and i say that with the utmost respect and admiration!) that can answer all your questions, repair/update your computer, walk you thru programs that confuse you; all with patience and words anyone can understand. Regardless if it is a repair, or you have to say goodbye to your familiar tech piece, pricing is reasonable. Thank you, Dr. Steve!

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. I was originally quoted around $135 for a file transfer that was supposed to take an hour or two. Instead, it dragged on for five days—and I was hit with a $250 bill, nearly double the estimate, with no explanation until it was time to pay. I felt completely taken advantage of. At no point was I told the service was billed hourly, nor was I given the chance to approve additional charges. I was charged for the time it took him to figure out how to use the hard drive I provided, which is absolutely not fair. I spoke with Steve every single day during that time, and not once did he mention the job had become more complicated or that costs were increasing. If the drive’s formatting was an issue, that should’ve been communicated right away. The lack of transparency is unacceptable. I have used Steve over the years, and even recently had him replace my computer battery. I prefer to support local businesses, but this felt like a bait-and-switch. I could’ve gone to a big box store, had the files transferred the same day, and paid much less. I would not recommend this place, and I will not be returning.

Had a catastrophic failure of a DCHP Server and Steve was able to get me back up and running with all of my data recovered. Would give 6 stars were they available

Eleven months ago, I entrusted this shop with my MacBook and a sum north of $400, in the hopeful belief that expertise and craftsmanship still meant something. I left reassured that my device had been properly repaired. Alas, the repair appears to have been more of a seasonal arrangement than a lasting solution. The very same issue has returned, almost poetically unchanged — as though nothing had ever been done at all. When I brought this small irony to the shop’s attention, I was informed, with admirable firmness, that the warranty extends precisely 90 days — a period apparently calibrated not to ensure durability, but to outlast accountability. For over $400, I had imagined a repair built to endure. What I seem to have purchased instead was a brief intermission. If you are seeking longevity, craftsmanship, or pride in work, you may wish to look elsewhere.

Accidentally wiped my MacBook and deleted the Macintosh data. The screen worked perfectly. Came to pick up my computer, and the screen was broken/black. I ended up leaving the MacBook there and just purchasing a new one. Never going here again and never letting them touch my MacBook.Great prices if you can leave with a working MacBook.
